Addie Taylor, MEd

Assistant Professor of Practice

Addie is the Master Teacher of the Pecan class.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Texas and an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.  She has been an early childhood educator in both general education and special education with experience at  Austin ISD, Texas School for the Deaf, and Eanes ISD.  Her core values about education include promoting authentic learning by supporting purpose in how students play and work; and encouraging students to ask questions and practice problem solving.  She believes that students develop a curiosity for life by exploring their personal interests and the world around them.  Addie’s focus in the classroom is to foster positive interactions and support building relationships as she believes these are critical foundations for children to thrive.

Addie has two children who attended the UT Lab School and is a graduate from the program herself.  She believes practicing mindfulness and play are essential components to health and happiness.  Personally s  he practices these principals through yoga, journaling and running.
