Student Classroom Participants
NTR 365 – Experiential Learning in Community Engagement: Implement hands-on community engagement activities, such as gardening, cooking, and nutrition lessons through the experiential learning laboratory within community/school settings to improve nutrition and health and decrease the incidence of chronic diseases.
E4Texas – E4Texas is a post-secondary opportunity for people with or without a disability, who are over the age of 18, who have a high school diploma, and are employment-focused.The experience combines classroom instruction with practical career building experiences, independent living skills, and self-determination.
BDP – Bridging Disciplines Program: The Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDPs) at The University of Texas at Austin allow undergraduates to develop a secondary area of specialization that complements their major through interdisciplinary coursework with hands-on research, internship, or creative experiences.
Graduate Students
Graduate classroom assistants are graduate students from Human Development and Family Sciences or a related department who are placed at the Laboratory as part of their professional development in their graduate program. They are employees of and paid by the university for this work. These students assist the Master Teachers both in the classroom and in providing support services outside the classroom. Each graduate assistant is assigned to work with a Master Teacher for 10 hours per week.
